Improving Basic Book Keeping and Accounting Skills

Basic bookkeeping and accounting is among the key small business management challenges hindering Craftspersons and their trade associations from improving their business to create better quality informal apprenticeship opportunities for youth employment. Similarly, youth and their self selected cooperatives are failing to manage and report on their incomes because of lack of bookkeeping and basic accounting tools.

To capacitate the youth cooperatives and informal small scale entrepreneurs to manage and report on their business incomes as well as track the impact of the project the ILO Skills programme is partnering with Chips Computing Services t/a PASTEL Zimbabwe to design a 3 day basic course and system of bookkeeping and accounting suitable for entrepreneurs in the informal sector and in rural areas. After the training the programme will facilitate the provision of basic accounting software for youth cooperatives and informal small scale cooperatives in all the programme areas.
